Dear Family and Friends:
How are you all doing? I hope all is well with you and everyone in your family. I wanted to get you up to date on what God has been doing in my life. I just recently finished up with the second year internship through my local church, the Wenatchee Valley Praise Center. During the first year of the internship I developed hands on experience in a wide range of ministry tracks. However during the second year I was able to focus on one ministry track. I helped out with “Xtreme” our internship program. My tasks included, planning monthly outreaches, financial budgeting, and scheduling for the interns. Most importantly I was changed in many different ways. I found out more about the character of God. I finally took God out of a box and was used by Him in many powerful ways.
As part of the internship program this year, I was able to help plan a mission trip to Juarez, Mexico. This was my first time down to Mexico, so I didn’t know what to expect. God moved in powerful ways down in Juarez! I was able to see the character of God in more ways then I had ever seen before. We, as an internship were used by God in so many different aspects. God was able to use us, because we were open to allow Him to move in our lives.
As you all heard from the last update I sent out, we went to Tanzania, Africa in 2008. Wow, it was such an amazing experience. My life was changed in so many ways, God is alive and well! After coming back from Tanzania, Africa in 2008, I fell in the love with the people and the culture. I knew that I wanted to go back someday, however I just didn’t know when. Half way through the internship I felt this summer was the time God was calling me back to Africa. So on August 27th I will be leaving to go back and serve at the YWAM base in Tanzania, Africa. I will be volunteering with the base in Arusha, Tanzania. My focus at the base will be teaching the local community a basic computer course. I am so excited to be able to use the skill God has given me, to disciple through my teaching.
This mission trip is going to cost me financially. However, all I am asking for is your support for the people. They are experiencing a severe famine with very little resources to live off of. I want to be able to bring extra funds to be able to buy the people around the base basic staples. They didn’t receive the rain during the rainy season of March and April and were unable to plant crops. Therefore they will have no crops to harvest and will have to wait until next March and April. Please consider supporting me in my efforts to provide food for these people. If you are not in a position right now to support financially, please be in prayer for much needed rain for the people of Arusha, Tanzania.
I am looking forward to do God’s work in Arusha. Furthermore I am so excited to share with you the powerful stories from my trip. Thank you so much for your consideration and support.
Checks can be written out to Nick Kerstetter.
